The Indigo Handheld Web Browser identifies itself as a mobile device to the outside internet. Some internet sites, such as cnn.com, recognize the mobile device identification and serve a special version of their site (optimized for small screens, limited pointing capability, etc.). This may cause complications in schools where web proxy permissions are restrictive. Here is why: When www.cnn.com detects an Indigo handheld, it serves m.cnn.com. While www.cnn.com may be allowed through your proxy server, m.cnn.com may not be. In Indigo update 2534, we have added a feature that tests all of your Indigo links – to determine if there will be any problems with your school proxy server. This feature also reports the URL that any problem link is attempting to serve. You can then forward the URL to your network administrator to have it unblocked.
Please email indigosupport@learningsoft.net with any web site difficulty.
